In permanent exposition since 1996, the 1908 PROTOS automobile, that belonged to the Baron of Rio Branco. Of german origin, the make "PROTOS" became famous at the beginning of this century, due to its legendary participation in the New York-Paris race.
Used in Rio de Janeiro, at the commemorations of the Centennial of The Opening of the Ports to Friendly Nations, the PROTOS was incorporated to the assets of the National Historical Museum in 1925. After 10 years’work, the PROTOS, one of the only two remaining models in the world, will return to the public, completely restored.
