The Reception, situated in the arcades that surround the Minerva Patio, facing the main entrance, sells entrance fees and receives groups for guided tours.

The following publications can be found at the Museum's entrance hall:


"Never to be forgotten - Negro Memories - Memory of the Negroes"
Launched in 2002. 347 pages, "couché" paper, colored and b&w illustrations and photographs. R$60,00. Catalogue of the exhibition of the same name displayed at the National Historical Museum from November 2001 up to March 2002.

The exhibition and the book were conceived by the Francisco Corrêa Weffort, Minister of Culture, to mark, officially, the date of November 20, as the National Day of the Negro Conscience, as a tribute to the hero of the negro resistance, Zumbi dos Palmares.





















"Portuguese Coins from the Epoch of Discoveries - 1383-1583"

Launched in 2000. 272 pages, "couché" paper, colored and b&w illustrations. Coordination: Rejane Maria Lobo Vieira. R$23,00. Bilingual English/Portuguese edition.
Catalogue of the exhibition held in Santarém, Portugal. This exhibition was the result of researches made by the Numismatic Department of the National Historical Museum about coins minted in Portugal at the epoch of discoveries, that belong to the Museum's collection,

CD-ROM "Anthology of the Annals of the National Historical Museum - 1940-1998"

Launched in 1999. R$15,00. Due to the great demand for the Annals, no longer in stock, and being a work of reference in museology, a new print was made in the form of a CD-ROM, under the responsibility of the Library of the Museum. With colored and b&w illustrations and searching instructions.

Launched by the Pró-Memória National Foundation, 1987. Authorship of Helena Ferrez and Maia Helena Bianchini.R$15,00 (both volumes). A work of reference, the first of its kind. No illustrations. A technical publication.


"Iconographic Catalogue of the Historical Archive"

Launched in 1997. 219 pages, b&w illustrations. R$15,00. A technical publication, made under the responsibility of the Historical Archive, containing reference to all the images of the collection.
