This exhibition, part of the permanent circuit, approaches the process of colonization, the colonial nexus and its economic and cultural development. A huge pannel of contemporary artist, Clecio Penedo, introduces this module that includes objects associated with navigation, colonial commerce, sugar-cane and coffee monocultures, mining, the presence of the Portuguese court in Brazil and the immigration that occurred in the late l9th Century.
