EDUCATIVE DIVISION
The educative division develops projects directed to children, mainly for students of public and private schools.
	ACTIVITIES	SUMMARIZED DESCRIPTION

Group Visits	Visits must be previously appointed by calling (5521)550-9260 or 550-9261, Monday thru Friday, from 10am to 5pm. There is no charge for public schools, and private ones pay 50% of the normal fee. Group of tourists pay normal fee. Free for teachers and guides. The visits are arranged through the project "Space Museum: Constructing Knowledge", that happens every Tuesday each month, from 1pm to 5:30 pm, with the purpose of discussing the concepts of museum, the museological object and educational action in museums, besides preparing teachers and guides with information for guided visits to the Museum, and distributing the publication "Knowing the National Historical Museum". To participate of this meeting it is necessary to contact the Educative Department.
Discovering the Museum	A special project that presents a technical work about the Museum's collection. Meetings once a month, in groups of maximum 15 persons.
Discovery Hall	A space for ludic educational activities having as a starting point the Museum's exhibitions and collection.
Exhibition of videos	Videos about Brazilian history may be programmed as a complement of the visit. The choice of videos should be made previously.
Other Projects	Also sessions of theatre, special educational activities for specific exhibitions and other special projects. More information about the Educational Department call (5521) 550-9260 or 550-9261
